Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Last Updated: 26/06/2025

1. Introduction
This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and outlines the steps taken by TraumaMed Solutions Ltd to ensure that slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, or servitude do not occur in any part of our business or supply chain. We are committed to ethical business conduct, transparency, and continuous improvement. While we are a small business, we recognise our duty to act responsibly and to assess the risks of exploitation in both our operations and partnerships. This statement is reviewed regularly and reflects our current practices and plans for improvement.

2. Our Business
TraumaMed Solutions Ltd is a UK-based medical supplier specialising in emergency trauma and wound care products. We provide products to NHS Trusts, healthcare organisations, and distributors. Our supply chain includes manufacturing partners in the UK, EU, and other global locations. As a distributor and brand owner, we do not directly employ factory labour, but we acknowledge that sourcing products through international partners requires due diligence and scrutiny.

3. Risk Areas
We consider the highest risks of modern slavery to lie in:
• Subcontracted labour used by overseas manufacturers,
• Countries with lower regulatory enforcement or transparency,
• Components sourced from sectors where exploitation is historically more prevalent (e.g. textiles, packaging).

We do not consider our UK operations or UK-based warehousing to be high risk but remain vigilant.

4. Policies and Governance
We have developed internal policies to ensure consistent ethical conduct:
• Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy (POL-10) – outlines our zero-tolerance stance and supplier expectations.
• Whistleblowing Policy (POL-13) – allows staff to raise concerns in confidence.
• Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy (POL-09) – includes Right to Work checks to prevent illegal or forced labour.

We are in the process of strengthening our onboarding process for new suppliers to include mandatory ethical declarations and risk assessments.

5. Supply Chain Due Diligence
All new suppliers are required to:
• Confirm compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015;
• Disclose their own ethical sourcing and anti-slavery policies;
• Confirm adherence to local wage and labour laws.

We are embedding anti-slavery clauses into new supplier contracts, giving us the right to terminate relationships if modern slavery is discovered. Our longer-term aim is to segment our supply base by risk tier and implement periodic reviews or audits where appropriate.

6. Training and Awareness
As a growing SME, we are introducing basic training and awareness briefings for staff involved in procurement, operations, and supplier management. These sessions will focus on recognising risk indicators and knowing how to escalate concerns. Training materials are being developed to suit our business size and needs.

7. Monitoring and KPIs
To evaluate the effectiveness of our approach, we will monitor:
• Completion of supplier declarations and onboarding forms;
• Results from supplier reviews or informal audits;
• Reports or concerns raised by employees or third parties;
• Feedback from NHS customers and compliance tools such as the MSAT.

Any reported concern will be investigated, and corrective actions will be taken swiftly.

8. Future Commitments
We are committed to continuous improvement and plan to:
• Publish our Modern Slavery Policy on our website;
• Introduce a supplier code of conduct for new and existing partners;
• Strengthen due diligence for higher-risk suppliers;
• Enhance staff training and document control relating to ethical sourcing.

9. Statement Approval
This statement has been reviewed and approved by the senior leadership team of TraumaMed Solutions Ltd. It is reviewed and updated as required to ensure continued alignment with legislation and best practice.
